Successful restaurant chains don’t come from nowhere. All start as a single unit, a restaurant that becomes so successful it opens a second, then a third, then many (many) more locations. And more so than ever, the U.S. today is filled with a diverse array of small-but-mighty independent concepts that are on the cusp of taking the plunge into multiunit operations.

To identify those exciting restaurants that are thriving in one location and intend to scale to multiple units, Nation’s Restaurant News is excited to launch its inaugural Rookies of the Year report. Selected restaurants will be profiled in the March 2025 issue of NRN.

Could that restaurant be yours? If you own a single-unit concept but intend to scale, submit your restaurant here.
