The Texas Restaurant Association, its Dallas chapter and its educational foundation sponsored the annual Food and Fashion event Tuesday night, taking over an Irving, Texas event space with a Studio 54 disco vibe.
The annual event featured a fashion show, in which designers teamed with restaurants to create looks that include 35% of the design had to come from the foodservice business.
The winner this year was a carb-throwing creation of Cindi’s New York Deli and Danny Nguyen Couture. The fashion featured onion rings, sugar packets and thrown bagels.
The Ben E. Keith Culinary Cup competition was won by North Forney High School. It featured teams in the Texas ProStart program, which is supported by the Texas Restaurant Foundation.
The event raises money for the foundation and its programs.
