Charlie Morrison is stepping down as CEO of Salad and Go, the drive-thru concept, after two and a half years in the role, the company confirmed Tuesday.

Morrison advised employees in September letter that he would be stepping down both from the CEO role and the board.

"While Charlie Morrison will retire from his role with Salad and Go at the end of this year, the organization remains laser-focused on our ambition to bring this revolutionary concept to the masses," Florian van Rappard, Salad and Go director and partner at lead shareholder, Volt Investment Holdings, said in a statement.

“We thank Charlie for all he accomplished, stepping in to establish the foundation for long-term growth at Salad and Go by positioning the business as the go-to destination for fresh, nutritious food that is convenient and affordable for all,” van Rappard said. “The board and our best-in-class team remain collectively motivated to shake up the restaurant industry for Salad and Go’s ambitious scaled growth.”

He said the company was looking for a new CEO and would announce a selection soon.

“In the meantime, we are confident in the Salad and Go team’s ability to continue to build on this track record of success for years to come,” he said.

Earlier this year, at the ICR Conference in Orlando, Fla., Morrison said the company was opening a store each week. The concept had 130 locations open in January.
