Dunkin’ Donuts has used Mountain Dew in a new Coolatta, the newest selection in its slush beverage line.
The new Coolatta will be available as a limited-time item from now through this summer at participating locations in the 9,700-unit chain, the Canton, Mass.-based quick-service franchisor said.
The suggested retail price is $2.29 for a small 16-ounce drink. Dunkin’ Donuts also announced the return for the summer of its Blue Raspberry Coolatta.
The Mountain Dew and Blue Raspberry Coolattas join Dunkin’s existing lineup of Coffee, Strawberry, Vanilla Bean and Tropicana Orange slush beverages.
Dunkin’ Donuts is promoting the Mountain Dew flavor online with its “Unfreeze it” promotion.
Participants who complete an entry form at Dunkindonuts.com/Dew, will be entered for a chance to be randomly selected to operate a water gun that contestants control virtually through the Dunkin’ Donuts Facebook fan page. The virtual “ice blaster” will be aimed at a block of ice with a Mountain Dew Coolatta cup frozen inside.
The participant who unfreezes the cup will win a prize such as a skateboard, surfboard, mountain bike or skate deck.
Entrants also will be eligible for daily “sweepstakes prize packs,” including a grand prize drawing for a 32-inch 3D television.
Participants’ attempts to unfreeze the beverage can be watched live by visiting the Unfreeze It application on the Dunkin’ Donuts Facebook page.
