Barbecue chain celebrates anniversary with sweepstakes and charitable Twitter campaign
In honor of its 50th anniversary, Sonny’s BBQ has created the 24K Gold Ribs, a rack of ribs gilded with 24-karat edible gold.
You can see the ingredients used in the making of the extravagant entrée in the video above.
The special menu item is valued at $1,968 and will only be served to the lucky winner of the restaurant’s Good as Gold sweepstakes.
Through July 31, Sonny’s is holding the sweepstakes online at SonnysGoodAsGold.com. The brand is offering the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Orlando, Fla., which includes a two-night hotel stay for two, a 24K Gold Rib dinner and other experiences.
The barbecue chain is also partnering with Feeding Children Everywhere, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger globally, in a Twitter campaign.
When the restaurant’s official Good as Gold Tweet is retweeted, it will contribute 20 meals. For each like of the post, Sonny’s will donate 10 meals.
