LOUISVILLE Ky. Papa John's International Inc. said Monday that it has signed agreements with four franchise groups to open 57 new units throughout Canada.

Under the pacts, PJ Atlantic Franchising Ltd. will open 20 units; MJ Taylor Holding Co. will open 10; Bajco LLC will open 15; and PDR Associates Inc. will open 12. Papa John's said each group will open at least one new unit this year.

Papa John's has targeted Canada, where it already has 14 units, as a key area for international growth, said David Flanery, chief financial officer and international managing director.

Papa John's, based here, has more than 3,200 restaurants worldwide.
