Cousin of the Naked Chicken Chalupa will be available for limited time
Taco Bell is bringing back Naked Chicken Chips on May 11, for a limited time.
According to Taco Bell Corp.’s CMO, Marisa Thalberg, “the world wasn’t ready to say goodbye” to the menu item. The chain opted to go ahead with the comeback after receiving positive results following a trial last summer at select restaurants.
The marinated, all-white-meat chicken chips will be included on the regular menu as a 6-piece item for $1.99, or 12 pieces for $3.99. The chicken chips are seasoned with Mexican spices, and customers can pair them with Taco Bell’s nacho cheese sauce.
The chicken chips will also be available in Taco Bell’s $5 Box, which includes a Burrito Supreme, Crunchy Taco and medium drink.
Although only available for a limited time, the chicken chips might have their time in the spotlight cut even shorter if The Council For Eating Fried Chicken The Same Way You Always Have gets its way.
The fictitious activist group became the tent pole of the Naked Chicken marketing campaign when the product was first introduced to audiences as a Naked Chicken Chalupa. Taco Bell claimed that the coalition has “already begun their marketing campaign against Naked Chicken Chips.”
