COLUMBUS Ohio Max & Erma's has rolled out a "bolder" menu at all 106 of its stores, officials said Tuesday.

New items include a Tortilla Burger, which the casual-dining chain bills as the sandwich version of its popular soup. The burger is topped with cheddar, pepperjack, jalapenos and tortilla strips and is served with a side tortilla soup for dunking.

Other new additions include an Apple Pecan Salad, made with apples, sweet and spicy pecans, dried cranberries, crumbled blue cheese and a maple vinaigrette; a Stacked-to-the-Max Club, made with Black Forest ham, smoked turkey, bacon, Swiss and cheddar cheeses, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise; and Fettuccine with Chicken and Peppers.

In addition, the chain introduced a new cocktail, the Godiva Chocolate Peppermintini.

Max & Erma's also changed the format of the menu, moving from a spiral-bound book to a quadrifold document. Officials said guests had indicated in feedback that they preferred having all menu selections on one page.

The revamped menu comes about four months after the Columbus-based chain was purchased by G&R Acquisition Inc., a company led by Pittsburgh restaurateur Gary Reinert Sr.
