Why does the cooling effect of peppermint make it a popular flavor during the coldest part of the year? Is it simply because candy canes hang so well from Christmas trees or is there some deeper physiological meaning behind it?
Regardless, there’s a lot of peppermint on menus right now, including treats at Andy’s Frozen Custard, Black Bear Diner, Dolly Llama, Gott’s Roadside, Main Squeeze Juice Co., Next Level Burger, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Taffer’s Tavern, and Turning Point
Sonny’s BBQ, meanwhile, is marking the festive season by rolling out a new line of cocktails, and Beyond Juicery is taking a cue from the cold weather and introducing a warm soup.
Black Tap, for its part, is celebrating with Champagne, wagyu beef, and truffles. Florida-based dessert concept Better Than Sex is celebrating with dark chocolate.
Flame Broiler has new charbroiled wings, Wingstop has a new sauce, and Grimaldi’s has new desserts, cocktails, and a charcuterie board.
White Castle is bringing back tiny Sloppy Joes, Rush Bowls is evoking apple pie, and Velvet Taco, for its Weekly Taco Feature, is evoking cheesesteak.
