Pizza Hut is promoting a nearly 2-foot-long pizza called the Big Italy for $12.

The oval pizza, available as a limited-time offer, has 18 slices and is bigger than two medium pies, Pizza Hut said. The $12 price tag includes up to three toppings.

In late July, Pizza Hut simplified the menu prices at its outlets nationwide, pricing most medium pizzas at $8 and large pizzas at $10. Those prices were for pizzas with up to three toppings; Stuffed Crust and specialty pies were priced higher.

Along with the Big Italy Pizza’s launch, Pizza Hut said it was giving away 100 $15 gift cards a day to its Facebook fans through Sept. 16.

Pizza Hut, a division of Yum! Brands Inc. of Louisville, Ky., has more than 10,000 restaurants in more than 90 nations.
