DENVER Quiznos is expanding its $2 Sammies flat-bread sandwich lineup with the addition of two varieties containing fewer calories than the earlier choices.

The new Sammies—Balsamic Chicken and Black Angus—are both served with fat-free balsamic dressing, lettuce, tomato and spices. They contain about 200 calories each, Quiznos stresses on its website.

The other Sammies, which debuted in November, contain between 310 and 330 calories apiece. They are Sonoma Turkey, Italiano, Alpine Chicken and Bistro Steak Melt.

All the Sammies sell for $2. A combo meal that contains two Sammies, a drink and a side sells for $5.99, according to Quiznos website.

Quiznos introduced the Sammies to offer customers lower-priced and lower-calorie sandwich options, said Steve Provost, chief marketing officer.

Quiznos, based here, franchises more than 5,000 sub shops.
