Subway is opening a popup “Cookieway” shop in Miami on Dec. 4 that will only sell footlong cookie “subs”

‘Tis the season for restaurants to promote holiday specials, giveaways, and LTOs. But Subway is taking the social media-friendly LTO to a whole new level with the popup “Cookieway” shop open only on Dec. 4—National Cookie Day – which will be giving away footlong “cookie subs” inspired by the brand’s iconic footlong sandwiches in exchange for a donation to charity.

The very limited special offer is not only available for just one afternoon (1-5 pm) but guests will only be able to snag one of four different footlong cookie varieties at one location: the Subway in Calle Ocho-- Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, dressed up as a Cookieway shop for the day. Despite its limited audience and timeframe, we think that this Subway promotion will garner a lot of attention on social media, especially for how over-the-top the foot-long cookies appear to be. Here are some of the varieties Subway is baking up for the one-day promotion:

  • The Subway Cookie Club: Inspired by the Subway #11, the Cookie Club has a double chocolate cookie base, vanilla frosting, and is topped with chocolate chip, white choc0lste macadamia and raspberry cheesecake cookie chunks, rainbow sprinkles, and chocolate and raspberry sauce.

  • The MexiCali: Inspired by the Mexican #7 sub, the MexiCali is a vanilla sugar cookie base topped with dulce de leche, topped with mole and corn nuts, white chocolate sauce, and finished with ground coffee, Tajín Mexican spice, and espresso chips. 

  • The Monster: Named after the #3 sub, this footlong has a double chocolate cookie base, is topped with peanut butter, peanut butter cups, Reese’s pieces, butterscotch morsels and pretzels, and finished with chocolate and white chocolate sauce. 

  • The Great Pickle: This unique cookie has a savory flavor like the #8 garlic sub and layers peanut butter and marshmallow crème on top of a vanilla cookie base, topped with potato chips, bacon crumbles, and Subway’s signature dill pickles.

“Bringing together two of Subway’s most iconic menu items — footlong subs and Subway cookies – was the only way we could top our celebration of National Cookie Day last year when we opened the first Cookieway,” Paul Fabre, senior vice president, of culinary and innovation at Subway said in a statement. “We wanted to give Subway fans even more cookie to love, with flavors and ingredients that are just as craveable as the sandwiches they’re inspired by.”

Subway has said that the cookies are available on a “first come, first serve basis,” so it’s likely they’re expecting long lines and to sell out early.
