Taco Bell’s Double Decker Taco is making its way back to the national menu starting today for a limited time. The Double Decker – a bean-filled tortilla wrapped around a taco shell and filled with beef, lettuce and shredded cheddar cheese – will be available for $2.99, or as a Double Decker Supreme, with added diced tomatoes and reduced-fat sour cream, for $3.69.

The Double Decker was initially introduced as a limited-time offer in 1995 before becoming a permanent item in June 2006. It was discontinued in 2019. In 2022, the item was up against the Enchirito in Taco Bell’s in-app Fan Favorite Voting experience to earn a spot back on the menu, but the Enchirito prevailed. The Double Decker, however, garnered 38% of the vote and was heavily requested from fans during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session earlier this year, inspiring its return.

“The Double Decker Taco holds a deep space in the hearts of our Taco Bell Fans. The insane amount of love for this product from fans across our social platforms was impossible to ignore,” CMO Taylor Montgomery said in a statement. “The sentiment was particularly strong following last year’s spirited face-off with the Enchirito. We listened to what our fans wanted from us and knew we couldn’t deny them the joy of the Double Decker Taco any longer.”

To celebrate the item’s return, Uber One members will have access to an exclusive Double Decker Taco buy-one-get-one free deal from Dec. 5-10. Also, from Dec. 5-12, Deck the Doorstep DoorDash customers will receive $5 off orders that are at least $25, while DashPass users will get $8 off of $25-plus orders.
