Pink salt, also known as Himalayan salt or Pink Himalayan salt, gets its name from its natural pink shade and the location in which it is mined.
Pink salt is a beautiful addition to any plate, adding color, texture and a dash of intrigue, but many consumers also believe that the salt has health benefits, including aiding digestion.
Market research firm Datassential reports that pink salt is found on 0.2% of U.S. menus, up 200% over the past four years. This Flavor of the Week’s highest awareness is among vegan and vegetarian consumers, foodies and members of Gen Z.
