This week on Nation’s Restaurant News, top restaurant chains in the quick-service and fast-causal segments are stepping up digital strategies tied to menu innovation, free delivery, marketing. Chipotle Mexican Grill and El Pollo Loco continue with free delivery promotions through their app and Postmates. KFC is doing a delivery promotion, offering free food through DoorDash.Taco Bell is also giving away top of the line gaming consoles, Xbox Series X bundles, in its app.
While top national fast-food chains are downsizing or tweaking their menus during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chick-fil-A is adding three more items to its menu, including two permanent national items: a Chocolate Fudge Brownie and a new coffee blend.
“We are always looking to add fun and flavorful offerings to our menu, and these new dessert and snack options make perfect additions as we enter the fall season,” Leslie Neslage, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A, said in a statement.
New items from Denny’s, Panda Express and more made it on our Menu Tracker. Denny's added its new Pumpkin Pecan Pancake Meal: pancakes made with pumpkin and cooked with pecans and then drizzled in pecan pie sauce, served with eggs, hash browns, bacon and sausage, for around $10.29. Panda Express also added Honey Sesame Chicken Breast which includes, chicken breast strips stir-fried with string beans, yellow bell peppers and sweet sesame sauce made with honey for $4.30.
