Balmoral Funds and Gala Capital acquire Dallas-based burger brand
Reach Restaurant Group has sold Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes to a partnership led by Balmoral Funds LLC and Gala Capital Partners LLC, the companies said this week.
Terms of the deal, which was completed on April 28, were not disclosed.
Mooyah Burgers, the Dallas-based, fast-casual chain, was founded in 2007, in Plano, Texas. It has 93 units, all but three of which are franchised. Twenty units are international.
Anand Gala, founder of Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Gala Capital Partners, which owns the two-unit fast-casual Fresh Griller and a controlling investment in Famous Dave’s BBQ’s largest franchise group, said Mooyah Burgers’ food, management and franchisee base attracted the private-equity funds to the brand.
