Brace for a disruption in the industry’s supply chain. A walkout by cargo handlers at 36 major U.S. ports is expected to limit the import of products ranging from bananas to machine parts. Economists say the severe disruption will cost the nation about $5 billion per day in lost commerce.

Subway is expanding in international markets again. The sandwich giant said it now has commitments for more than 10,000 new international locations from agreements made with master franchisees over the past three years.

Chuy’s Tex-Mex is working to quiet shareholder complaints about its planned acquisition by Olive Garden parent Darden Restaurants. In an SEC filing Monday, the chain provided additional details on how it arrived at a sale price of $37.50 per share.

Dickey’s franchisees closed a lot of restaurants last year. The fast-casual barbecue franchise, which has struggled in recent years with weak sales and disputes between the company and its operators, closed 85 U.S. locations in the company’s fiscal year ended May 31, according to Dickey’s franchise disclosure document.
