Bob Stewart, McDonald’s senior vice president, chief supply chain officer, North America, has announced his retirement effective Oct. 1. During his 30 years of service at McDonald’s, Stewart helped digitalize the supply chain and manage historic supply chain shortages.

He will be succeeded Cesar Piña, who currently serves as corporate vice president, global strategic sourcing for food, and who is a part of the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team. According to his LinkedIn account, Piña joined McDonald’s in September 2014 as a quality systems manager, working his way up to director of global supply chain and sustainability for Latin America, senior director, global supply chain for Developmental Licensed Markets, and was named to his VP role in September 2022.

Prior, he served as quality systems manager at McClement Management Group and as an engineer at General Mills.

In a statement, Marion Gross, executive vice president, McDonald’s global chief supply chain officer, said Piña has made “significant contributions across his 10-year McDonald’s career to drive meaningful change to our global supply chain and the system at large, and there is no doubt that he is the right leader to carry forward McDonald’s priorities. His extensive industry experience in driving business results matched with his strong learning aptitude and passion for advancing a culture of collaboration makes him uniquely suited to shepherd the North America Supply Chain team into the future.”
