Burger King will launch a special Halloween menu on Oct. 10 that includes a Whopper with a purple potato bun and black sesame seeds and a tie-in with The Addams Family, the company said.

The Miami-based division of Restaurant Brands International Inc. this year is partnering with The Addams family after two years of Halloween Ghost Pepper Whoppers.

“We did the Ghost Pepper Whopper for two years in a row,” said Zahra Nurani, Burger King’s vice president of marketing communications. “Our guests are going to get a nice surprise with The Addams Family partnership.”

She said Burger King is teaming with Amazon MGM Studios Consumer Products for such Addams Family items as:

  • Wednesday’s Whopper, a purple-potato bun with black sesame seeds, beef patty, Swiss cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles, and onions.

  • Thing’s Rings, which feature onion rings served in themed packaging.

  • Gomez’s Churro Fries, coated in cinnamon sugar and paired with chocolate dipping sauce.

  • Morticia’s Kooky Chocolate Shake, mixed with chocolate cake batter fudge and topped with black and purple cookie pieces.

Nurani said Burger King was looking for a tie-in that would relate to both children and adults. “The Addams Family is just so representative of an interesting family,” she said. “They're kind of a quirky family you know just that authentically true to themselves.”

The Burger King culinary team was able to lean into each character within the family and “really get to bring some innovation,” Nurani said. Burger King crowns also get an Addams Family makeover.

Burger King is offering its loyalty Royal Perks members special deals on the Addams Family menu Oct. 10 through Nov. 10, the company said.

Burger King will also be releasing a limited-edition line of King Jr. Meal toys inspired by the various characters from The Addams Family animated films. Those will start Oct. 7.

Burger King, founded in 1954, has more than 19,000 locations in more than 120 countries and U.S. territories.
