Firehouse Subs sees opportunities for international growth in its planned $1 billion sale to Burger King parent Restaurant Brands International Inc., CEOs of both companies said Monday.
José Cil, CEO of Restaurant Brands International, and Don Fox, CEO of Firehouse Subs, in an interview discussed the planned acquisition, a $1 billion all-cash deal announced Monday morning that would add the 1,200-unit Jacksonville, Fla.-based sandwich chain to Toronto-based RBI’s portfolio, which also includes Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Tim Hortons.
The deal is expected to close “within months,” the companies said.
