Chick-fil-A adds new brownie dessert and coffee drinks to nationwide menuChick-fil-A

Top national fast-food chains are downsizing or tweaking their menus during the COVID-19 pandemic. But at Chick-fil-A, it’s business as usual. The Atlanta-based quick-service chain said it is adding three more items to its menu, including two permanent national items: a Chocolate Fudge Brownie and a new coffee blend.

The dessert and THRIVE Farmers Hot Coffee, a new specialty blend, debut Sept. 14, along with a seasonal Mocha Cream Cold Brew drink.

The Chocolate Fudge Brownie, the newest dessert offering from Chick-fil-A, features semi-sweet chocolate melted into the batter along with “fudgy” chunks, the company said. The brownies comes individually wrapped and can be ordered à la carte or by the tray. The brownie cost $1.89 or $11.50 for the tray.

The chain decided to put the dessert on the menu after receiving positive consumer response during testing in select markets last year.

The Mocha Cream Cold Brew, which was also tested last year, is cold-brewed coffee blended with sweetened cream and chocolate flavored syrup. It is served over ice and is priced from $2.69-$3.09. It is available from Sept. 14 – Nov. 14.

“We are always looking to add fun and flavorful offerings to our menu, and these new dessert and snack options make perfect additions as we enter the fall season,” Leslie Neslage, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A, said in a statement.

Chick-fil-A has been serving THRIVE since 2014. This new blend features coffee beans grown in Central and South America. The flavor profile  -- smooth caramel with a nutty finish -- offers a milder aftertaste that aligns with the majority of coffee drinkers who use creams and sweeteners in their cup, the company said.

Prices vary at each restaurant. A sm ll coffee starts at $1.69.and a large is $2.25.

The last time the chain added a permanent menu item was in January, when the Kale Crunch Side debuted on the menu.
