McDonald’s Corp. is making July 13 a “free fries for all” day as it launches its MyMcDonald’s Rewards loyalty program nationwide, the company said Thursday.

The Chicago-based burger brand said the “World Famous Fan Day” observes the company’s 66 years in business by awarding 66 loyal customers one million rewards points in a Twitter contest and one patron will get a “free fries for life” pass.

The company is rolling out its loyalty program this month after testing it in Arizona, Nevada and several New England states.

“We have the best fans in the world who deserve to unlock perks for their loyalty,” said Alycia Mason, vice president of digital customer experience at McDonalds USA, in a statement.

“That is why we are so excited to bring MyMcDonald’s Rewards nationwide and celebrate with all of our guests on World Famous Fan Day,” Mason said. “We’re eager to repay years of fandom by giving them what they love most about McDonald’s — our delicious food — for years to come.”

To be eligible for the World Famous Fan Day, customers can download the McDonald’s smartphone app, opt-in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards and add the deal for medium fries to the cart.

For the additional awards, customers on July 13 need to share on Twitter (tagging @McDonalds and including the #MyMcDonaldsFanContest hashtag and a home state) why they are loyal to the brand. Full rules are at MyMcDonaldsFanContest.com.

McDonald's USA LLC has nearly 14,000 restaurants nationwide.
