Taco Bell was one of the first quick-service chains in the industry to introduce a modern app in 2014. The following year, the brand launched a rewards game called Taco Bell Explorer, where fans could sync their social-media platforms, such as Instagram, to the Taco Bell app.

They’d earn rewards, such as food, for posting on their channels, but the game was not a traditional program where points were earned for spending money at restaurants. The program ran its course, and eventually disappeared.
