While breakfast got off to a slow start, Wendy’s newest daypart is now gaining steam and driving frequent visitors to restaurants — a good sign given that many office workers continue to work remotely.

“We have added another layer of growth in breakfast, and it continues to perform well. We have also seen our rest of day business grow, which is very promising,” CEO Todd Penegor told investors Wednesday morning during the company’s third-quarter earnings call.

The Dublin, Ohio-based quick-service chain said it is bullish on marketing the breakfast menu, along with its newly revamped Classic Chicken Sandwich. Wendy’s plans to include the sandwich in an upcoming 2 for $5 promotion.
