The Wendy's Co. will expand its virtual Wendyverse on July 18 with the addition of Frosty Village. The Wendy's Co.

The Wendy’s Co. is expanding its virtual Wendyverse with a Frosty Village and adding competitive activities to the Horizons World platform, the company said this week.

The Dublin, Ohio-based burger brand will open the expanded mountainside-themed section, accessed through the Quest 2 virtual-reality headset, on July 18.

Wendy’s launched the Wendyverse in April and expanded it in June with the Sunrise City section.

The company said “achievements” are now available, so players can compete in activities throughout the Wendyverse and monitor their progress. The virtual offering comes with French fry skis, spoon ramps and snowboarding.

“Anyone with a Quest 2 will be able to skate in on the fun – simply visit the Wendyverse hub world, which offers a portal to Frosty Village, or search directly for the experience in Horizon Worlds,” the company said.

The introduction of Frosty Village also comes with a smartphone app offer of a free medium fry with the purchase of a Strawberry Frosty.

Those 18 or older and based in the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom can download Meta Horizon Worlds. The company offered these instructions for navigating to the new areas:

1. Turn over the left wrist and select the three-line icon from the Personal Menu, and then select the Pin icon (toward the bottom).

2. Select the Magnifying Glass icon (in the upper right-hand corner).

3. Use the virtual keyboard to search for “Wendyverse.”

4.  Click the picture to travel to the hub world, and find portals to Frosty Village and \Sunrise City from there.

Wendy's, founded in 1969, has about 7,000 restaurants worldwide.
