Last month, the biggest restaurant executive news was that the National Restaurant Association named a successor to Tom Bené, its CEO, who stepped down in August 2021 to take on the chief executive role at beverage distribution company Breakthru Beverage Group. He is being replaced at the NRA by a woman who also has experience in the beverage world. Read on to find out who she is and her experience, which includes some political roles in the White House.

In other news, fast-casual Velvet Taco named its first ever CFO, newly acquired Firehouse Subs named a new member to its C-suite in 11 years, Penn Station East Coast Subs named a new chief operating officer, Starbucks named a new chief financial officer, Clean Juice promoted an executive to chief marketing officer and La Madeleine also promoted an internal exec to COO.

Two restaurant companies named new CEOs this month as well. Hot dog brand Wienerschnitzel named J.R. Galardi its new CEO while Burger King franchisee group Carrols Restaurant Group named Paulo Pena to the top spot.
