Last month 15 executives were on the move across various restaurants in the industry. From leaders at the biggest companies — Applebee’s — to smaller brands such as Sugar Bowl Bakery, we saw a lot of movement in January, though it was slower than last year.

The big news of the month was that Applebee’s president John Cywinski left his post to go to a smaller emerging restaurant company.

In other news, Carrols Restaurant Group — a franchisor of Burger King — named a new CEO on an interim basis after its chief executive unexpectedly died.

Blaze Pizza named a former Focus Brands vet to the role of CEO, and Montclair Hospitality Group also named a new CEO.

Wendy’s decided to restructure its C-suite, eliminating the president position and leaving Kurt Kane without a job. Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux promoted its chief operating officer to its top spot, while Texas Roadhouse also promoted someone internal to the role of president.

Culver’s named its first-ever chief marketing officer and Burger King also named a new CMO.

Check out these and more C-suite moves from executives across the country.
