September was, once again, a busy month for restaurant leaders to jump to a new position. While not as heavy on CEO changes as previous months, there were still four chief executives named to the role last month — at Krispy Kreme, Red Lobster, Toast and Eataly.

The common thread among several of last month’s moves was new board members. Starbucks founder Howard Schultz announced he was leaving the board. Panera Brands announced two heavy hitters for its board ahead of the company’s highly anticipated initial public offering. Chipotle also added a new member to its board, from Hilton hotels.

There were also many chief financial officers named to that role last month including at Pinstripes, Walk-On’s, Velvet Taco, True Food Kitchen and Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s.

Pinstripes also named a chief marketing officer, while Walk-On’s also named a chief development officer. Papa Johns named a new chief operating officer. Jack in the Box named a new president for Del Taco. Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s named a new chief marketing officer. Applebee’s named a new VP of culinary. First Watch named a new chief brand officer.
