Blaze Pizza has named Kevin Moran as its new chief development officer and Johnny Tellez as its new chief operations officer.

Moran joins Blaze from Focus Brands, where he spent eight years, including six as vice president of strategy development and analysis. He is tasked with accelerating Blaze’s global growth and explore strategic alliances.

Tellez also comes from Focus Brands, where he most recently served as vice president of international operations and training. He has also held positions with Schlotzsky’s, Which Wich Superior sandwiches, and Rita’s Italian Ice. 

"We are pleased to announce the addition of Kevin and Johnny to our executive team at Blaze Pizza. Their outstanding qualifications and proven track record of success assure us of our continued ability to provide an exemplary experience for our franchisees and patrons as we move forward into our next phase of expansion," CEO Beto Guajardo said in a statement. "As we maintain our leadership position in the fast-casual pizza industry, their contributions will be vital in achieving our strategic goals."

Guajardo was named CEO in January after serving as president of Focus Brands International. At the time of his announcement, he said the company has “significant growth opportunities ahead and I look forward to working with the team to accelerate our next phase of growth.”

Blaze currently includes more than 330 locations across 38 states and six countries.
