Brix Holdings, the parent company of Friendly’s, Red Mango, Orange Leaf, Smoothie Factory & Kitchen, SouperSalad, and Pizza Jukebox, has named Rick Brown as its new chief financial officer, effective immediately. Brown is charged with leading the financial and accounting functions across all Brix brands.

Brown has 30 years of executive experience in the retail and restaurant industries, most recently serving as CFO for TGI Fridays, where he was responsible for the brand’s financial functions. Prior, he worked as a senior director of finance for Blockbuster and senior financial analyst for Dollar Rent A Car, according to his LinkedIn account.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rick to our robust leadership team as we continue to expand our portfolio of brands through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions,” Sherif Mityas, CEO of BRIX Holdings, said in a statement. “I am confident that Rick’s financial and industry expertise will be invaluable assets to our efforts and a key driver of our success moving forward.”

Brix has made several key executive hires in the past few years, including Mityas in 2022. The company has steadily added brands to the portfolio and created the proprietary Pizza Jukebox, and has plans to continue growing and potentially acquiring more brands.

"I am incredibly excited to be joining the BRIX team,” Brown said in a statement. “We have an exceptional group of brands, team members and franchisees that all contribute to our success. I see this as a great opportunity to guide this high-growth restaurant group to its next level of performance, and I am ready for the challenge.”
