PORTLAND Ore. The McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants chain is looking for a new chief financial officer after announcing late Wednesday that former CFO Emanuel Hilario “ceased to be employed” by the company, effective May 21.
No explanation was given for Hilario's departure.
The casual-dining chain in January brought on William Freeman as president and chief executive. Freeman was previously chief executive and an owner of the Fox Sports Grill chain, which is based in Westlake Village, Calif.
For the March 28-ended first quarter, McCormick & Schmick’s reported a net loss of $1.1 million on revenues of $91.9 million. Same-store sales in the quarter were down 13.9 percent.
Freeman, however, predicted the picture would improve during the second half of the fiscal year as the company gains traction with cost-cutting initiatives and expected tax benefits.
