Church’s Chicken has appointed John F. Bowie as its new president of U.S. operations, the company said Wednesday.

In his new post, Bowie will be responsible for overseeing operations at the Atlanta-based chain’s corporate and franchised restaurants.

“John’s QSR experience, expertise and solid track record for delivering results will be a catalyst in driving relentless satisfaction for our customers and franchisees,” Mel Deane, Church’s chief executive, said in a statement.

Before joining Church’s, Bowie served as senior vice president of operations for Wilbraham, Mass.-based Friendly Ice Cream Corp., which recently tapped Harsha V. Agadi as its new chairman and chief executive. Agadi previously served as president and chief executive of Church’s Chicken.

Church’s Chicken operates or franchises more than 1,700 restaurants in 22 countries.
