Corner Bakery Cafe has promoted Gregg Koffler to vice president of franchise sales, the company said Thursday.

Koffler succeeds Jonathan Benjamin, who left the Dallas-based bakery-café operator to become chief development officer at Atlanta-based Huddle House. Koffler had served as director of franchise sales for Corner Bakery’s western U.S. division since last May.

Corner Bakery president Gary Price said in a statement that Koffler was “the perfect choice” to lead the concept’s sales team.

“With 288 committed and unfulfilled cafes, more than 61 of those signed just in the last 60 days,” Price said, “the exceptional caliber of franchisees Gregg and the rest of the sales team have been attracting to the brand is a testament to the tremendous growth potential ahead.”

Corner Bakery currently has about 150 units.

Koffler, who worked in hospitality franchise sales with the Wyndham hotel brands before joining Corner Bakery last May, said, “I look forward to the tremendous opportunities to grow the brand through franchised cafes while the company also continues to invest in cafe development.”

Prior to Wyndham, Koffler was a managing partner with Scottsdale Mortgage Professionals and president of Southwest Litigation Support.

Corner Bakery, which was acquired in 2011 by Roark Capital Group, an Atlanta-based private-equity firm, has both corporate and franchised units in 14 states and Washington, D.C.
