Eureka! Restaurant Group is beefing up its infrastructure with the addition of two C-suite executives, the casual-dining operator said Monday.

johntheuer_0.gifJohn Theuer has been named the first CFO of Eureka. He will oversee the accounting department, construction and facilities, information technology and purchasing. Previously, co-CEO Justin Nedelman was responsible for CFO functions.

Theuer is the former CFO of the fast-casual Pizza Studio chain. Prior to joining Pizza Studio in 2015, Theuer held CFO positions at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf from 2012 to 2014, and at Panda Restaurant Group from 1999 to 2010.

ericberman_0.gifIn addition, Eureka has named Eric Berman to the role of chief restaurant operations officer, or CROO, replacing Ciaran Gough, who left the company last year.

Berman previously spent nine years with BJ’s Restaurants Inc. As senior regional vice president, he oversaw about 45 locations with combined sales of more than $225 million. Before BJ’s, Berman was an area director for The Cheesecake Factory, where he worked for 15 years.

Based in Hawthorne, Calif., Eureka operates 21 restaurants, with two units scheduled to open in the next 10 months, including one at San Diego State University at the end of August and another in downtown Las Vegas in early 2018.
