Following the announcement of a merger with controlling stockholder Fog Cutter Capital Group Inc. on Monday, FAT Brands — parent company of Fatburger, Hurricane Grill & Wings and most recently, Johnny Rockets — is eyeing mid-sized fast-casual and/or casual dining acquisitions in 2021, FAT Brands president and CEO Andy Wiederhorn told Nation’s Restaurant News on Tuesday.

Wiederhorn, who founded global franchising company Fog Cutter Capital, explained that with the merger, FAT Brands will become the publicly listed parent company of Fog Cutter in a “reverse merger”-like move.
