Former Mimi’s Café executive Karen Eadon has been named vice president and chief marketing officer of the Farmer Boys chain, the company said Thursday.

The CMO role is one that has been newly created at Riverside, Calif.-based Farmer Boys.

Eadon was previously the vice president of marketing for Mimi’s Café, which last year was acquired by Le Duff America. As a result, Mimi’s moved its corporate office to Dallas and Eadon retired.

“It took me three months to realize I am not ready to retire,” Eadon said in a statement. “When the opportunity to join the Farmer Boys team came up, I jumped at it.”

At the 77-unit Famer Boys, Eadon will lead marketing, advertising and public relations initiatives under president and chief operating officer Ken Clark and the company’s founders.

Eadon’s prior experience includes marketing positions with El Pollo Loco, Taco Bell, ARCO Products Company, Applebee’s and McDonald’s.

Known for “farmhouse food” burgers and breakfast in a fast-casual environment, the Farmer Boys brand was founded by the Havadjias family in 1981, and franchising began in 1998. The chain operates in Southern and Central California along with Nevada.
