Fresh Brothers has named former Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. executive Houman Iskandani chief operating officer, effective immediately, the company said Tuesday.

Additionally, former Yard House president and founding partner Harald Hermann joined the Los Angeles-based pizza chain’s advisory board. Hermann most recently served as president of the Specialty Restaurant Group for Darden Restaurants Inc., Yard House’s parent company.

Iskandani, who replaces former COO John Onstott, previously served as Chipotle’s director of operations. He will lead daily operations at Fresh Brothers’ Southern California locations and future expansion outside California.

“It was time to bring someone like Iskandani into our leadership team,” said Adam Goldberg, Fresh Brothers founder and CEO. “He has a true understanding of managing both day-to-day operations and customer service at a very high level, and that will play a huge role in our growth.”
