Michelle Korsmo has been CEO of the National Restaurant Association for just a year and a half, but what an eventful year and a half it’s been.

Since she joined the Association in February of 2022, the restaurant industry has tackled historic inflation, a stubborn labor pool, a volatile supply chain, and incredible disruption that has driven the industry into the future — but at a speed that’s been hard to sustain for many restaurant leaders.

Korsmo sat down with NRN editor-in-chief Sam Oches at the recent Prosper Forum in Amelia Island, Fla., for the latest episode of Take-Away with Sam Oches. The two discussed the myriad challenges that restaurant operators face today and how the National Restaurant Association is helping operators fight on multiple fronts. That includes a look at the “4 D’s”: demographics, digital, demand and disruption.
