WASHINGTON The National Restaurant Association has appointed three new executives to its ranks in an effort to reinforce its management team.

The NRA named Dan Solomon to the post of chief of staff. In addition, the Washington, D.C.-based organization appointed Marvin Irby chief financial officer and Beth Solomon senior vice president of strategic communications.

NRA president and chief executive Dawn Sweeney said the appointments “will further strengthen our leadership team as we continue to increase the effectiveness and expand the advocacy efforts of the National Restaurant Association and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation on behalf of our industry.”

The association said Dan Solomon would work with Sweeney on strategy and the implementation of enterprise-wide initiatives. Solomon has experience in the marketing and media industries, and most recently served as chief executive of Virilion. In addition, he clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8^th Circuit, served as a senior staffer in the U.S. Senate, and held a political appointment with the U.S. Department of Commerce. He also has practiced law.

Irby, who will serve as chief financial officer of the NRA and the NRA Educational Foundation, will manage and develop strategy for all of the association’s financial operations. Previously, he was CFO of Shawmut Design and Construction, and before that was vice president of finance and global support for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Beth Solomon, in her new role, will be responsible for planning and directing all communications and outreach for the NRA’s president and chief executive, boards and executive leadership. Most recently, she was with CTPartners, a global executive search firm. Before that she was director of communications of the National Association of Manufacturers. Solomon also has worked in the entertainment and journalism industries, and served on the staff of Senator Sam Nunn.
