NASHVILLE Tenn. C. Ronald Petty, president of development for Del Taco and Captain D’s parent Sagittarius Brands, is stepping down to pursue other investment opportunities, officials said Monday. No successor has been named.

Petty, whose resignation is effective Tuesday, was president of the Del Taco quick-service chain when it was acquired by Sagittarius in March 2006. He subsequently was shifted into a development role for the buyer. The company already owned Captain D’s at the time.

Petty was involved in the signing of 34 franchise agreements for a total of 154 new Del Taco and Captain D’s restaurants over the past two years.

“Ron Petty has been instrumental in developing our Del Taco franchise format and taking our brand from being a regional player to a nationally recognized competitor with more than 500 restaurants in 16 states and many more to come. We wish Ron every success in his future endeavors,” said Nick Shepherd, chairman and chief executive of Sagittarius.
