Quiznos and Taco del Mar parent company, Rego Restaurant Group, announced Friday the appointment of the company’s first-ever chief development officer, Vanessa Fox, who formerly held the same position at Zaxby’s restaurant chain.

In her new role, Fox will “support the continued transformation” of both the Quiznos and Taco del Mar brands and will lead the way with geographic expansion, operational improvements, strategic partnerships and rebranding initiatives. Fox was hired on the heels of a major 30-store development deal for Quiznos, announced last month.

“I’m thrilled to join the incredible team at REGO Restaurant Group and begin working with them as we turn our collective focus to brand awareness and overall growth,” Fox said in a statement. “With a long-standing passion for this industry, this is a tremendous opportunity to work with iconic brands such as Quiznos and Taco Del Mar. I’m eager to build on the recent momentum and continue the transformation of these two beloved QSR brands.”

Fox has nearly two decades of professional experience in the industry. Prior to her two-year tenure at Zaxby’s, she was an SVP, chief development officer, of Jack in the Box, and has held multiple positions of leadership with that brand and Qdoba.

“Vanessa is a dynamic and creative leader who is a valuable addition to our team as we seek to take these brands to the next phase in their respective transformations,” Tim Casey, president and CEO of Rego Restaurant Group said in a statement. “We are eager to leverage her extensive knowledge and impressive track record particularly as we look to attract new franchisees with our innovative franchisee-first model.”
