tendergreens-president-denyelle-bruno.gifTYP Restaurant Group, parent to the Tender Greens fast-casual brand, has named retail veteran Denyelle Bruno (left) to succeed concept co-founder David Dressler as president, the company said Wednesday.

Bruno, who most recently was president of retail operations at Drybar Holdings LLC, will assume the position in October. Dressler, who had served as president since 2015, has assumed the title of chief people officer at the 24-unit Culver City, Calif.-based fast-casual company.

“We feel incredibly lucky to have found an exceptional leader with the right combination of emotional intelligence, empathy, warmth, integrity and an outstanding reputation scaling companies like ours to help guide Tender Greens through this next phase,” said Dressler in a statement.

“Denyelle has the specific expertise to grow our operations, marketing, branding and real estate footprint faster and better than we can do alone and to navigate the challenges faced by large, complex companies,” he said.

Prior to Drybar, Bruno held positions at such brands as Apple, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, Design Within Reach, Macy’s and PureBeauty.

Co-founder Erik Oberholtze will continue to serve as Tender Greens CEO, the company said.

Tender Greens was founded in Culver City in 2006.

In July 2015, when the brand was at 18 units, New York-based Union Square Hospitality Group made a “significant minority investment” along with equity investment firm Alliance Consumer Growth. Danny Meyer, CEO of USHG and founder of the Shake Shack chain, joined the Tender Greens board.

Tender Greens plans to open its first East Coast locations in New York and Boston.
