This year, we saw 43 CEO changes across the restaurant industry which is the one more than last year. That doesn’t mean they were the same though.

Some of the more interesting CEO changes include new leaders at Taco Bell, Blaze Pizza, Restaurant Brands International and FAT Brands.

However, the most interesting brand this year was TGI Fridays.

The casual-dining brand lost its CEO of five years in May and thus began a series of moves for TGI Fridays. First, the chain named a new CEO in August. This was followed by another new CEO announcement in October following the departure of the short-lived CEO for personal reasons.

A second brand to see multiple CEO changes this year was yet another casual-dining brand: Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux.

In January, the growing brand named a new CEO to succeed the brand’s founder in the role. That was followed by another announcement in June that the chain had named yet another CEO. There was no reason listed for the departure of the chain’s CEO of six months.

Check out all the CEOs on the move across the industry in 2023.
