SAN RAMON Calif. Strategic Restaurants Acquisition Corp., a 240-unit Burger King franchisee based here, rolled out Radiant Systems Inc. hardware and software for point-of-sale system, kitchen display, credit card processing and centralized data management.

"We are pleased with the performance of Radiant's technology and with the broad capabilities of the Radiant implementation team," said Dave Knutson, SRAC's director of information technology. Referring to the three-month rollout, he added, "This was a large and very well-managed engagement."

Sources at Alpharetta, Ga.-based Radiant said the SRAC package includes biometric readers that enable restaurant staffers to use their fingerprint to log-on to the system and clock in and out for payroll purposes. They added that SRAC's POS system integrates with the MenuLink back-office software used by the BK franchisee and that the data-management tools deployed during the rollout let the operator centralize handling of menus, pricing and promotions.
