WESTBURY N.Y. Nathan’s Famous Inc., franchisor of the 229-unit Nathan’s Famous hot dog chain, said it has sold the rights to its Kenny Rogers Roasters chicken brand to the concept’s master developer in Malaysia, Roasters Asia Pacific (Cayman) Ltd.

The estimated $4 million-plus deal, which includes accruals, provides Nathan’s with rights to continue selling Kenny Rogers products within its namesake brand and units co-branded with other concepts.

All but six of the Nathan’s Famous hot dog outlets are franchised. The company also has the rights to sell Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips products.

Nathan’s sold its Miami Subs sandwich chain last year for $3.3 million.
