Casual-dining company sees a new strength in off-premise sales since coronavirus restrictions
Bloomin’ Brands Inc., parent to Outback Steakhouse and other full-service concepts, has reopened dining rooms in about 90% of its restaurants since the coronavirus lockdown orders, and sales — which were dependent on off-premise orders — are beginning to bounce back, executives said Friday.
The Tampa, Fla.-based casual-dining company, which released second-quarter earnings before market Friday, said same-store sales at company-owned units for the week ended July 19 were down 18.7% and had been down as little as 4.2% in the week ended June 21.
