It seems like multi-unit franchising has exploded in 2022, with deals getting inked across the country for more units of growing brands.

In the first quarter of 2022, the industry saw multi-unit franchising deals from brands like Papa Johns and Qdoba that were the largest in company history. Others, like Blaze, which signed a three-unit deal, began to grow again.

Growing brand Fuzzy’s Taco Shop inked a 50-unit deal, while hot dog brand Wienerschnitzel signed a 20-unit deal to expand across a Southern state. Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, meanwhile, signed a 30-unit deal to expand.

That’s on top of moves from brands like Yum and Wendy’s that have included introducing more franchisees of color into the system to make the franchising system more equitable and diverse.

See which brands have inked these lucrative deals abroad and are growing at rapid paces.
