We know from Technomic’s 2024 America’s Favorite Chains data that Americans love steak, snacks, and dessert. But of course, they still eat plenty of burgers, chicken, pizza, and other cuisines. So who are the winners of those various categories? And why?

In some cases, the results are straight forward. America’s largest chicken chain is also its favorite. The “varied menu” category features the same three brands as it did last year.

But some categories may surprise you. All of the top three burger chains are regional favorites, with national chains not making the cut. The number one beverage/snack chain was nowhere to be found last year, and now it’s everyone’s top choice.

The above gallery explores consumers’ top three choices for different cuisines: burgers, chicken, beverage/snack, family style, Italian/pizza (full service), pizza (limited service), Mexican, sandwich, steak, and “varied menu.”

Each restaurant company has an overall score presented as a percentage. Percentages represent a composite top-box rating, indicating the share of recent guests who gave the brand the highest possible overall score.
