FALLS CHURCH Va. Great American Restaurants, based here, operator of nine full-service concepts, is using the Mirus Exception-Based Restaurant Management Reporting system, Mirus said.

Dave Morgan, Great American's chief financial officer, noted that his company would stay strong in the decade ahead only if it made sound, strategic business decisions. To support such decisions, he added, "We need the right data on demand, in an understandable and usable format."

Mirus's technology automates the capture of data and reporting of performance metrics to all necessary client company employees, saving administrative time and reducing errors, sources at Houston-based Mirus said. They added that the Mirus software tools integrate with existing systems for managing food costs and inventory and now make check-level data available for analysis.

Great American's concepts include Coastal Flats and Sweetwater Tavern.
