IRVINE Calif. Flame-grilled-chicken purveyor El Pollo Loco based here is deploying MegaPath's Store Connect VPN service to support data transfers between headquarters and the more than 200 restaurants now networked within the 351-unit chain, MegaPath indicated.
"MegaPath's fully managed secure connectivity services provide our restaurants access to the corporate resources they require, while allowing our headquarters staff to focus on providing tools that our crewmembers can use to build revenues and exceed our guests' expectations," ELP vice president of information technology Tom Giannetti said.
Sources at Costa Mesa, Calif.-based MegaPath said the network services used by ELP support accelerated credit card processing, "near real time" uploads of store-level transaction data to a data warehouse and the push-down to store POS systems of promotions and pricing data.
